Malik Yoba has been tapped to play Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The 44-year-old actor shared the exciting news with his fans via Facebook.“I am feeling incredibly honored , just got cast as MLK JR in the Lifetime movie “Betty and Corretta” [sic] playing opposite Angela Bassett as “Corretta, while Mary J. Blige will play Dr. Betty Shabazz. The role of Malcolm X has yet to be announced.The film, previously titled Parallel Lives, will tell the stories of Betty and Coretta as they continue their lives as single mothers after the assassinations of their husbands. Emmy Award winner Ruby Dee will also be featured in the film as a historical witness to narrate the women’s stories. Production on Betty and Coretta begins this month.
